Meghan Shannon, DVM
Dr. Shannon grew up in Buffalo, NY, and received her BS from Cornell University. She graduated with a DVM from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.
After practicing for 3 years in Melbourne, Florida, she took over Cherry Knolls Veterinary Clinic in the fall of 2003. Meghan lives with her husband Zach Howard, who is a professional comic book illustrator. They share their home with their children (dogs) Blue, Tex, and Cola. In her spare time, she enjoys thinking about what she would do with her spare time if she had some.
Lead Technician & Inventory Manager
Maria is our lead technician and inventory manager. She had been with us for 3 years and is also is a full time at MSU-Denver a biochemistry major. She loves all things surgical, and has updated many of our protocols and standards. She has a menagerie of pets, dogs, cats, gerbils, and even a human toddler.
Chelsea is someone you will see at the front or the back of the hospital, she is learning to do it all! An Arkansas native, she loves all that Colorado has to offer. In her time off her spare time she enjoys hiking and skiing the Rockies.
Marbles was left on our doorstep in 2018. He was very thin and quickly diagnosed with diabetes. He has plumped up and enjoys the twice-a-day wet food and the kibble he munches on all day.
Anneliese joined us in Feburary! She just returned to her home state from Key West. She had a dog named Roscoe Dash. She is very creative and loves knitting and crafts. She has a Masters in Microbiology from Colorado State and loves the family feel of our clinic!
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Amanda has always loved animals, and since childhood hood has wanted to be a Veterinarian. She graduated with her B.S. in Biology from MSUD in December of 2011 and plans to pursue Veterinary school in the near future.
She started working with the team at Cherry Knolls in December of 2012 and is further enriching her knowledge of animal welfare. At home, she has 3 pets named Echo, Bestis, and Dusty who have been a part of the family for 11 + years.
Casey was relinquished to us due to chronic respiratory problems. She has sinus issues and sneezes violently at times. We love her nonetheless and just follow her with a box of tissues.
Taya has been with us since 2016, with over 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine. She is our stem cell therapy expert, and in charge of prepping and processing all samples for PRP and regenerative medicine. She loves all Denver sports, especially the Broncos!
Client Service Specialist
MaryLee runs the front desk for us. She is so friendly and works so hard to keep us all on schedule. She has years of experience in the field, and it shows! She is a Tulsa native and graduate of Oklahoma State. She has three children and three grandchildren! She has been in Colorado for 30 years and working in veterinary medicine for 12. Her hobbies are photography and stained glass design. She loves working at Cherry Knolls and helping all our clients. We could not do without her!
Ramon was found in a window well at 1-month-old in 2010 with a broken back leg and a front leg with nerve damage. With surgery, physical therapy, acupuncture, and laser therapy he has made a full recovery. He is very shy but very sweet.
Ghibli was born at Cherry Knolls Veterinary Clinic in 2012. He was the smallest of his litter but considers himself the king of the clinic. We let him believe he is in charge.
Client Service Specialist
Nicole joined our team in September and hopefully you have had a chance to talk to her on the phone! She and MaryLee bring years of experience to our service staff. A graduate of The University of Wyoming, she loves theater and dance.
Grace is our Veterinary Runner. She is a high school Junior who helps us after school and Saturdays. She helps keep us clean and tidy and she is the cats best friend at dinner time!
Ursula is our new addition. Dr. Shannon fell in love with her on Instagram and heeded the plea for a new home for a special needs kitty. She was flown out here from Santa Barbara in May. She is paralyzed at her hips, but scoots round without pain and loves to eat and chirp all day in the clinic.
