Meet Our Team

Meghan Shannon, DVM
Dr. Shannon grew up in Buffalo, NY and received her BS from Cornell University. She graduated with a DVM from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. After practicing for 3 years in Melbourne, Florida, she took over Cherry Knolls Veterinary Clinic in the Fall of 2003. Meghan lives with her husband Zach Howard, who is a professional comic book illustrator. They share their home with their children (dogs) Blue, Tex, and Cola. In her spare time, she enjoys riding her horse Donny and working on her comedy.

Haleigh, Veterinary Assistant
Haleigh is our Veterinary Assistant who is a graduate of Penn Foster. She has been in the vet field for over 3 years and everyday wanting to further her education. Haleigh is a proud fur-man to her Australian Shepherd Trigger and her cat Luna. Haleigh enjoys the outdoors and walking on the beach!

Michelle, Practice Manager
Dr. Shannon grew up in Buffalo, NY and received her BS from Cornell University. She graduated with a DVM from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.

Nikoly, Veterinary Technician
Nikoly was born and raised in eastern Florida, has been a Veterinary Technician since 2020. She graduated with an Associate’s degree in Animal Science from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado. Nikoly shares her life with her beautiful Belgian Shepherd, Toby, and together they enjoy long walks and cuddle sessions. She is passionate about her work and is honored to be a part of Cherry Knolls Veterinary Clinic.

Lily, Clinic Food Thief
Lily came to our clinic from a local horse barn. She is our 3-legged greeter who never passes on attention and rubs behind her ears. Beware though… she will steal your food if you’re not looking!

Ursula, Clinic Cat
Ursula is our new addition. Dr. Shannon fell in love with her on Instagram and heeded the plea for a new home for a special needs kitty. She was flown out here from Santa Barbara. She is paralyzed at her hips, but scoots round without pain and loves to eat and chirp all day in the clinic.

Lily, Clinic Food Thief
Ghibli was born at Cherry Knolls Veterinary Clinic in 2012. He was the smallest of his litter but considers himself the king of the clinic. We let him believe he is in charge.

Clara, P/T Technician Assistant
Clara is our Veterinary Assistant who keeps our clinic clean and happy. Her dog Riddle is a clinic favorite when he comes to work with her. When Clara isn’t at the clinic, she is an avid art enthusiast.

Amanda, P/T Technician Assistant
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Amanda has always loved animals. She graduated with her BS in Biology from MSUD in 2011. She started working with the team at Cherry Knolls in December of 2012 . At home she has 5 dogs, and also raises chickens with her husband.

Taya, Veterinary Technician
Taya has been with us since 2016, with over 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine. She is our stem cell therapy expert, and in charge of prepping and processing all samples for PRP and regenerative medicine. She loves all Denver sports, especially the Broncos!

Angela, Receptionist
Angela is our Full Time Receptionist with 16+ years of veterinary clinic experience. Outside of work she plays in a band and loves her kitties and fiancé.
