Surgery

At Cherry Knolls Veterinary Clinic, we are experienced in performing a variety of soft tissue and some orthopedic surgeries. During every surgery we offer excellent patient monitoring and support in a surgically sterile environment. We utilize mobile board-certified surgeons to perform more complicated or advanced surgeries here at the clinic so your pet stays where they are comfortable.

Surgeries & Procedures

We offer many different surgeries and procedures. Though not a complete list, here are some we routines perform:
  • Ovariohysterectomy (spay)
  • Orchiectomy (neuter)
  • Gastropexy (tacking the stomach to the abdominal wall of deep chested dogs to prevent gastric torsion)
  • Stenotic nares (widening the opening of congenitally narrow nostrils)
  • Entropion and ectropion
  • Wound repair, lacerations
  • Ophthalmic surgeries (not including procedures requiring a specialist)
  • Anal Gland repair or removal (Anal sacculectomy)
  • Hernia repair
  • Tumor excision (removal)
  • Cystotomy (for bladder stones)
  • Others that fall within our practice’s criteria and capabilities
We do not perform declaw surgeries on cats. We do, however, help you understand and learn effective, alternative measures to declawing.

Orthopedic Surgery

Cherry Knolls Veterinary Clinic does offer some orthopedic surgeries but we also use in-house specialists. Not only do we see fewer fractures than in past years, thanks mostly to leash laws, but there are now numerous specialists with expertise and equipment far exceeding what we could provide you. Consequently, when your pet needs an orthopedic procedure, in some cases we will offer referral to one of our in-house specialist.

Specialist Referrals

For advanced or highly specialized procedures, we collaborate with a network of trusted board-certified specialists. From orthopedic repair to complex internal medicine cases, we coordinate every step of your pet’s referral so care remains seamless and connected.

Covid Policy

COVID 19 is an infectious respiratory disease that can spread easily from person to person. It’s important to protect yourself, your loved ones, and others from the virus. We are currently offering in-office appointments. For safety reasons, we are only allowing one pet parent in the room per visit. Technician exams, drop-offs, and medication refills have the option for curbside, masks are not required for entry but always appreciated at your discretion. Thank you for your understanding.
